The study highlights a particularly attractive combination for those looking to start a new chapter: favorable finances, professional opportunities, quality of life, and a welcoming society.
87% of expatriates report being satisfied with their life in Panamá, well above the global average of 70%.

The results for Panamá are especially strong:
- 1st overall
- 1st in Working Abroad
- 1st in Personal Finances
- 2nd in Ease of Settling In
- 2nd in Essential Services for Expatriates
- 6th in Quality of Life
Additionally, Panamá continues to be particularly attractive for retirees: 18% of surveyed expatriates moved to the country to retire, compared to 4% of the global average.
Finances that allow for more enjoyment
Panamá holds the world's top position in Personal Finances. 90% of expatriates believe their income is sufficient to live comfortably, while 76% are satisfied with their financial situation.
The cost of living and the ability to maintain a good quality of life with available resources are some of the factors that enhance the country's appeal.
Better work-life balance
Panamá also leads the Working Abroad Index.
Its greatest strength is the balance between work and personal life, where it ranks first in the world. 90% of expatriates are satisfied with this aspect, compared to 62% of the global average.
The country also excels in professional opportunities and job satisfaction.
A welcome that makes you feel at home
Panamá ranks 2nd in Ease of Settling In. 90% of expatriates find locals friendly, 84% feel welcomed, and 81% say they feel at home.
This experience helps explain why more than a third of respondents wish to stay in Panamá permanently.

Panamá ranks 1st in ease of finding housing: 90% of expatriates find it easy to find a home.
It also receives excellent ratings for the ease of obtaining a visa and for its digital connectivity.

Panamá ranks 6th in Quality of Life, particularly noted for its natural environment.
100% of surveyed expatriates positively value the country's nature. Beaches, mountains, islands, rainforests, and a modern capital allow for different lifestyles within the same country.
Healthcare, leisure options, and a sense of security also stand out.
An opportunity to live, invest, and start anew
The results of Expat Insider 2026 help explain why Panamá continues to attract people from around the world.
For those seeking a new residence, a real estate investment, or a better quality of life, Panamá offers a combination of opportunities, connectivity, nature, and quality of life.
